I attended college in New York City. Looking back, I arrived a hesitant and confused teenager. I left a confident and strong woman. New York City taught me how to live, and it has made me who I am today. No matter where I end up, my heart will always remain with New York.
What other place are you able to walk to your local grocer, laundromat, Chinese restaurant and pizza joint? Where locals know your name, and movie theaters stay open 24/7. Where everything is accessible with a $2 MetroCard and walking is the norm.
There is an air of confidence and self-assurance amongst New Yorkers. Though some say that New Yorkers have a cold air of distrust, I only see a shared, fierce love for the city, a passionate desire to suceed and determination to never quit. |
