Approaching Epcot, October 2005 |
1000+ miles road-trip for 5 days
In October, we planned a 1000+ miles road-trip from NJ to Orlando, FL for a week. We ended up cutting our vacation short by two days due to approaching hurricanes, but it was my first visit to Walt Disney World and my husband's second visit since he was 18 years old.
October is a great time to visit Orlando, FL. The weather on most days was warm during the day (80's) such that an average attire consisted of a t-shirt and shorts with sneakers. At nights, the air was balmy and a little chilly, so an evening wear to a nice restaurant would consist of a throwing a cardigan over a dress. No rain in the five days we were in Orlando, though on the fifth day, stormy skies and looming hurricane threatened our vacation and we decided to drive home. Crowd level was low as school-age students had returned to school and few parents pull their children out of school early in the semester. I think mid-October is the perfect time to visit Orlando!
We spent our time as follows:
- 2 days in Disney (1 in Magic Kingdom and 1 in Epcot)
- 1 day at Kennedy Space Center
- 1 day at Universal Studios
- 1 day at SeaWorld
...then dashed back home!
