it is said that this city was founded by the Celts in 300 B.C. It was an important Roman centre being named Bracara Augusta.
Since Portugal was born the city turned to be an ecclesiastical centre, and that's why is known as the city of bishops.
The city is rich in historical buildings, especially churches. In the surrounding area Bom Jesus and Sameiro are also two spots not to miss by the visitor.
Braga has a university and the city comes to life during weekdays and the nightlife is made by students.
