We visited two museums in Florence and saw amny wondrous things but the most impressive sight was the original statue of David in L'Acamie (sp.). He is 15 - 20 ft tall and was carved by Michaelangelo from a single piece of marble that was going to be discarded. We were not able to take pictures in the room where he resided. |
| | In the center of old Florence In thre middle of town there is a piazza where everything seems to happen. There are steps where our tour guide told us about the city and its Renaissance history, the Uffizi gallery is there and busts of all the talented artists, writers, etc... that came from Florence during this time. Statues are everywhere and the Duomo is nearby. |
| | Italian churchs The picture is the gold plated door of the church in the center of anoither piazza. This church is not as old as it looks but still represents the city well. The dome is gorgeous and can be seen from anywhere in Florence. |
