I have lived in Plymouth all my life. Born here 32 years ago, I have never left my home town . Unfortunatly due to bad management by the city council, this beautiful city was left to fall to pieces for many years. But in the last two years it again has come to life. Its beautiful location between Dartmoor and the English channel makes it an ideal place to visit for people if any age. Steeped in history including the civil war and stories of Sir Francis Drake. It has a vibrant night life and many hotels and guest houses. The National Marine aquarium has to been seen, as well as a swim in the Tinside Lido in summer.
Redevelopement of the city centre is at present causing a little choas, but soon it will consist of a futuristic shopping mall to enchance its present large shopping area.. Within 20 minutes you can reach the lovely beaches if Whitesand Bay, where also dive trips can be taken to the Scylla, a recently scuttled man made reef. The city boast many watersports, and regularly host the world power boat championships. It also host the Great Britain firework championships, which are fired over Plymouth sound, and watching from Plymouth Hoe is the most breathtaking sight.
