"Muga!" Meru by sugartonnic
Meru Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 3 photos
Kenya is a magnificent tapestry of landscapes. Meru is located within central Kenya, about 4-5hrs drive from Nairobi. Essentially an agricultural district, this is Kenya at its truest state. Nearer to Meru Town, there's really nowhere to go. However, there are some really beautiful vegetation as you travel from one area to another as the altitude changes. The district is filled with boundless hills and valleys, growing produce such as maize, tea, potatoes and tomatoes. Foreigners with the exception of missionaries are rare.
- Pros:Warm, welcoming people & vast, beautiful landscape, yummy food
- Cons:Long travelling distances, undeveloped roads, non-potable water
- In a nutshell:The heart of Kenya
