Do visit the citadel - but bring a student card as that brings the price down from 300Sp to 15SP! Then have a queit drink in the shade before going to the nearby hammam....

Give at least half a day to thoroughly explore the souq and get lost - much less hassle than Turkey and facinating to see a working market rather than a tourist trap

Do visit the hammam near the citidel during the women's hours. Only SP400 for the works and none of the dodgy men masquerading as masseurs as in some Turkish hammams..... Beautiful old restored building and very peaceful - inhibitions have to be put to one side but foreigners can leave bikini bottoms on if they feel more comfy
