'Mode': AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: For $5 (day pass), you can go to several exciting destinations around LA. Single journey costs $1.25.
There are themes per station, so you expect the Chinatown station to have those dragons and Hollywood Station to have film reels and camera. Take the Metro Red line to the following destinations:Universal City - Universal Studios Hollywood Highland - to see the Hollywood Sign, Kodak Theater, Mann's Chinese Theater, Walk of Fame Hollywood Vine - L. Hubbard Life Exhibition, Walk of Fame Union Station - Amtrak central station, El Pueblo (Mexican community with souvenir shops, church)

Buses: Rapid Bus # 720 to Beverly Hills and Sta. Monica

Getting TO/AROUND: The Rapid Bus 720 takes you to Sta. Monica Beach. It's an hour's travel away from downtown LA depending on the traffic. Side trips - halfway to Sta. Monica Beach: a) Beverly Hills for some upscale shopping. b) Museums along Wilshire Blvd. I recommend Rapid Bus #720 to Sta. Monica instead of Bus 20 (takes you to Beverly Hills and Museum Row) because as the name implies it's faster and more convenient. You can spot this bus from a mile away because it's huge and it's red.

Buses: Cheaper Alternative to taking a Shared Shuttle

Getting TO/AROUND: The Fly Away Bus which connects LAX to three destinations around LA (Union Station, Van Nuys and Westwood) is definitely cheaper ($4/one way) per person, not to mention convenient, than taking the shared shuttle ($17) so I recommend it.
It drops you right into the airport terminal and allows baggage check-in for domestic passengers. Baggage assistance is also available.
Non-stop service every 30 mins.
