Montego Bay Jamaica is easily the least favorite spot I've visited in the Caribbean, though there are some gems to be had. Best of all, Jamaica is incredibly cheap compared to the other ports visited by the cruise ships.
The most visited area is Dunn River Falls, though I did not go there on my one trip. Be sure to have some authentic "jerk" cuisine while there, and of course sample the Red Stripe beer.
Stay WELL WITHIN the areas dominated by tourists, and don't be surprised by the plentiful number of uniformed soldiers patrolling the streets with automatic weapons. |
