FUN AND GAMES ON ROCKINGHAM FORESHORE Everyone comes to the Rockingham forshore to enjoy a relaxing day by the beach. But its better than a lot of beaches. Firstly there is plenty of parking & the parking is still free unlike some places in OZ. There is a very large tree lined park that extends for kilometers along the beach foreshore. This park has barbecues, seating , shade and playground equipment for the kids. There is also a wide paved walkway for the energetic types among us . This walkway is wide enough for cyclists & rollerbladers too. There's even some little pedal powered cars for hire there in summer. Along the foreshore there are 2 jetties to walk out on, a boat ramp to launch your boat at, somewhere to hire sailing catamarans or jet skis.
What I also like is that if you are too lazy to pack your own picnic or cook your own barbecue there are so many restaurants and cafes to choose from you'll never go hungry. My favourite is to go in winter to a cafe watch the storms come in over the ocean & enjoy coffee & cake with a friend. On a hot summers night it's the best place for fish & chips straight out of the paper & an icecream to follow |
Local schools use the foreshore as a venue for a lot of school outings . The ocean is very calm here even in winter. The beach is very shallow close to shore and is safe for all ages & levels of swimmers. There is also a pontoon to swim out to for the more experienced swimmers. |
| Happy girls after weeks of practice |
My Daughter at her Silver Medal Exams. There are a lot of classes for dancing for children in the Rockingham & Mandurah area. My daughter Amy (right) and her friend Maddy both turning 11 this year have completed 2 levels in ballroom this year. Just recently they passed their silver medals exams with honours. Well done girls. |
