"Mallow - The crossroads of munster" Mallow by mickeycireland

Mallow is literally the crossroads of munster. Situated 30 minutes from cork city and an hour from either limerick city or killarney, mallow is bang in the middle of all the munster action. This characteristic means its the perfect base from which you can explore the southwest.
Don't let that put you off looking around mallow itself though. The town is steeped in historical significance. The centrepiece is the mallow castle which overlooks the river blackwater, with it's unique herd of deer. The town centre also features a Spa house which features a natural spring said to contain healing properties. At the bottom of the main street one can find the clock house (see pic). Inrecent years an explosion of development in mallow has seen the towns population increase at a rapid rate. this increase in population is now being matched by infrastructure with the development of a large shopping and residential complex at the old mart site.
Popular attractions in mallow include fishing on the river blackwater, golf on the local 18-hole course and of coursing dining out or enjoying a few pints
