Muonio Travel Guide: 13 reviews and 20 photos

Muonio is a village in Finnish Lapland with 2 and half thousand citizens. It lies on the Finnish-Swedish border and there is a border crossing on the bridge close to the center.

The area has been inhabited since the stone ages. The first Finn to settle to the area was Olli Ollinpoika Tukki in year 1575. Muonio is the home of the Pallas-Ounastunturi national park and offers wonderful possibilities for cross-country skiing.
