Livingstone, is located in southern Zambia just north of the Zambezi River and next to the Zimbabwe border. This town of 80,000 inhabitants is the capital of Southern Province. The town is named after missionary, explorer, Dr. David Livingstone who lived in the 19th century. Livingstone, a brit, named the nearby falls after his queen. Victoria Falls are definitely the most interesting thing about this town. And a good reason to visit Livingstone!
Other local attractions include Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and Livingstone Game Park. |
| | That's why the locals call the falls Mosi-o-Tunya, "the smoke that thunders." ;) |
