Dublin

Sth Circular Road
City of Change

I've lived in Dublin for 8 years now and I must admit, I still get a buzz out of living here. Great shops, great entertainment, fantastic architecture, brilliant atmosphere.

The down side is that it's very crowded. Some parts are very run down and people aren't as friendly as the tourist board makes out. Shop assistants can be so rude and ignorant, restaurant service can be appalling and bus drivers can be incredibly obnoxious. Just don't expect a 'top o' the mornin'' attitude.

Dublin is very congested and traffic can be a nightmare. The bus service is the worst, but to be fair, often it's a traffic problem. The DART is pretty regular and on time, when they don't stop it for improvement works (which they are doing on the North bound tracks at the moment on the weekends). The LUAS is simply amazing...but it doesn't go anywhere touristy.

It's definitely a city worth visiting...just bring an umbrella!

Happy birthday. Interesting to see your personal point of view of the city. Any more tips of Dublin?

There is now a beautiful life-sized bronze statue of the great Irish Tenor, John McCormack, by gifted sculptor, Elizabeth O' Kane located in the Iveagh Gardens.
