In some ways Las Vegas has changed beyond all recognition since I first went there in 1982. The drive to appeal more to families with money rather than just gamblers has seen the city clean up its act and it is now the home of the best hotels and restaurants anywhere. Of course the old adage about the best way to leave Vegas with a small fortune is to go there with a large one still runs true as gambling is still the main activity. Having said that the hotels and attractions mean that you can spend days there and still not see it all or for that matter risked any of your spending money in the machines or on the gaming tables.
Las Vegas comes to life at night, but it is not dead during the day. Of course dragging yourself away from the swimming pools when the temperature is in the 90s and above isn’t easy, but it can be worth it.
Do not underestimate the distances involved, hotels are large and when combined with their shopping malls etc a walk “next door” may take longer than you think. The Strip is a minimum of three lanes each way!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Hotels, entertaiment for all, climate and great food
Cons:No good if your weakness is gambling
In a nutshell:Not so much "Sin City" these days - fun for all!
