This temple is close to the Grand Palace and is not just home to one of the largest reclining Buddhas, but it is a centre for the teaching of traditional Thai massage. Anybody can sign up to take the massage course which is normally spread over a few days. Of course you do not have to take the course to enjoy a massage here and I would recommend that you do so. They are inexpensive and a good tonic for any weary sightseer.
My tip is to get to the Grand Palace around 9.00 to miss some of the crowds and the heat, see the sights there before going around to Wat Po to explore that temple, have an hours massage then head back to your hotel for dip in the pool and some lunch.
