"A Family Seaside Resort and Recent History" Kerfany-les-Pins by ranger49

We have visited this sheltered, little beach several times when holidaying in the area, usually on the way back to our base in a holiday cottage.

We like the expanse of sand, the little rock coves at either side and the grassy area behind the beach with swings and climbing frames for children.
There is also a small camping ground.

Up on the cliff tops are a number of imposing houses with magnifcent vews including several holiday rental homes and a couple of hotels.

There are walks behind the restaurant and boat-hire cabin ( on the far side of picture) and we enjoy the lunchtime Menu du Jour at the restaurant - Auberge de la Mer.

However early the season and however quiet the beach the restaurant fills up early, mainly with local people - always a good sign.

This year we climbed to the top of the beach on the other side and made a strange discovery - on the cliff top overlooking the calm waters of the estuary is a small Garden of Remembrance...

.........we decided to walk a bit further and learn more about the events which took place in this peaceful spot in July 1944
