This little church stands in the centre of one of the smallest, neatest little hamlets we have ever seen.
We could see the spire and hear the bell from our room in the nearby Hotel - Auberge du Relais (listed on my Salies de Bearn page.)
We took a walk around. It was so quiet and apart from the Postie in his van we didn't see anyone at all. The gardens in front of the tiny Mairie were colourful and the Flag was flying; all the small timbered housed looked as though they had just been painted and the windows gleamed in the morning sun. There was no shop - just a house bigger than the others which might once have been a shop.
Neat and pretty, a little strange to see no-one early in the morning. We began to feel we shouldn't be there! |
