The Sistine Chapel is the private papel chapel built in 1473 for Pope Sixtus IV. Michalangelo's wonderfull frescoes of the creation on the barrel-vaulted ceiling and "Last Judgement" on the end of the wall have both be restored to their original brilliance. It took Michelangelo four years, at the height of the Renaissance, to paint the ceiling ; 24 years later he painted the the last Judgement... Famous is the creation of Adam painted in the ceiling.... So don't forget it when you are in the Vatican city... because its beautifull and a must see.

Piazza Novana is one of the most famous squares in Rome. You find street artists there and it's almost always crowded by travelers. In the square there are three magnificent fountains: the central one, the Rivers' Fountain made by Bernini who built it as a base for the Egyptian obelisk here transferred from Maxentius Circus; the lateral ones, Moor's Fountain and Calderoni's Fountain, that were designed by Giacomo Della Porta before Bernini built the memorable central fountain

The Vatican city , with its own postal service, currency, newspaper, radio, station, train station and army of Swiss Guards. In 1929 Mussilini gave the pope full sovereignty over what is now the Vatican City. It's Giantic Church build out of money from the catholic people. It's a holy ground so make sure that you wear a T-shirt that covers your shoulders. And for the ladies you can't come in with a short skirt so cover your leggs... I know I know but I didn't the rules ;o) Altough Several were involved in its construction, it is generally held that St Peter's owes more to Michelangelo, who took over the project in 1547 and was responsible for the design of the dome. He died before the church was completed.
