This is a great city! So many places, so many people! It overwhelms you, with swarming rivers of peoples on its pavements. Looking up, you cannot see the sun - it is always behind a tall building. This is Manhattan! An international atmosphere in a place that never goes to sleep.
It was only when I became 40 years old that I had finally crossed the Atlantic, and visited America. As was with many visitors from the old world I first stepped on American soil in New York. Overwhelming, vibrantly pulsating, and ever busy - this is how I experienced New York. I keep a special place for New York in my heart - hoping to relive the excitement and buzz again and again. What a juicy apple! |
