Situated between Nice and Cannes. Antibes was a Greek fortified town called 'Antipolis' in the 5th century BC, later a Roman town..
Often called Antibes-Juan-les-Pins. Antibes is closely linked to nearby Juan-les-Pins, also Cap d'Antibes.
Juan-les-Pins is more of a 'commercial' seaside resort with night life, Casino, smart boutiques etc.
Cap d'Antibes is an exclusive lush area with very expensive houses/estates - Roman Abromovich has a home here... There is a lovely 5* hotel where the rich and famous stay (Madonna etc) (cash only for some reason!)
All the Cote d'Azur is very busy in the summer months, Antibes being no exception! (try and find a parking space!)
Population 73000. The inhabitants are called 'Antibois'.
