HCMH is not complete without going to Ben Thanh market. You get all kinds of stuff here but you must do these: (1) Bargain Bargain Bargain (2) Bring a calculator - you need it to convert Dong to US$ or to your local currency (3) Best to avoid Fridays and Saturdays - thats when the crowd is incredible. Lots of foreigners like me go and shop. The prices they quote for the goods is higher on Fri/Sat than if you are there on late Sunday evenings/ Mondays. You could try this wonderful clothes shop named Phanh (4) Dress lightly as you will be going into a "sauna" A much cooler place which I visited was Andong Market Other Interesting HCMC Places

You must post a letter from this post office. It is a cool thing to do in the advent of the internet. Post it to yourself, you mum&dad, your ex? The outside view is fantastic let alone the inside of the postoffice. You are greeted by the Great leader himself . A huge photo of him can be seen as you enter. I am told it will take 10 days to reach the destination. 10 DAYs! The internet email can take 10secs! Other Interesting HCMC Places

A wonderful historical church with lots of stained glass windows. I am not sure about the religion issue here but its a wonder the way the church is kept in almost pristine condition. I guess because of the proximity of the cathedral to the Grand Post Office , the tourist seem to make their way to this grand place. Other Interesting HCMC Places

How could u miss the statue.. It is quite huge and I thought there will be so many pple crowding around it to take photos.. Anyway, thanz for looking at my HCMC pages.. check out Dalat too :) | JonnyVN Sun Sep 3, 2006 01:43 UTC Think you might be talking about the past here (soemone is watching), foreigners are no longer "bugged", deffinately not checking your sms, the manpower alone to do that would be overwhelming |
