There are many things to do and to see when here. It is not as big as Vienna or Salzburg, but if you have enough time, try to visit this town. It is about an hour from Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. You can see the Austrian Alps from the town streets. There, you can visit the Golden Roof, the city tower, the Hofkirche, Emperor Maximillian I liked Innsbruck so much that he wanted to be buried here, unfortunately, he is not inside, he ran up so much debt that his men were not allowed to bring him inside. Also the Tirolean Folklife Museum, Hofburg (18th century Baroque palace built by Maria Theresa), St. Anne's Column and Triumphal Arch. It is a great place for history and for skiing. |
| | My favorite place The Golden Roof is very beautiful. I was there on a Sunday and in the morning, they had a live band come in and play music. The streets are for pedestrians only, so you don't have to worry about looking out for a car. I also liked the Museum down the street. It has a history of all the time periods and shows artifacts. There is no English here, but the artifacts can speak for themselves. Many places offer an English guide for about one or two euros, sometimes a little more. If they offer it, purchase it. It is very helpful. |
