I went on two trips to Glasgow, Winter 1998 (it snowed!) and Summer 2000
Both times I found it an enjoyable experience, mainly because alot of my friends were students there at the time.

It's a city, with friendlier locals than in London. We took trains to other scottish cities, like Dundee, and other places which names I can't remember now. All in all, it's a fun place to visit as long as you have friends there.
