"This is my new home town ..." Chiang Mai by Tusitala

The real insider's tips on CM coming soon ...

I'm loving exploring Chiang Mai by foot at the moment, poking into all the little corners and familiarising myself with my new hometown. It is full of little suprises and delights, whether its the way a lit temple looms out of the darkness at the end of a soi, or a friendly English-speaking noodle vendor engages you in talk about New Zealand, or a great pocket of chilled reggae bars you stumble across, or mojitos for just 80 baht, etc, etc.

I'll concentrate on the lesser known things that farangs would probably not find if they were just passing through -- such as why there are 20 Thais queing for a particular street side noodle cart in Arak Rd when there are 1,000,000 other noodle stalls -- rather than add my two cents about more usual mainstream stuff.

I'm going to really enjoy my voyage of discovery in Chiang Mai and sharing it with you. This will be a work in progress so keep checking back ...
