In recent years, Budapest was a city that I felt I really needed to go to. I had been to Prague quite a few times, and I felt I should give Budapest a chance as well. I've always wanted to see the Danube, so I decided to go in 2006. I can not say that I was disappointed. |
| | What was it Like To me, Budapest was a lot like Prague, expect it was a little bigger, and had more of a cosmopolitan feel. I guess part of that is due to the fact that Prague never saw war and Budapest was more or less completely destroyed by the wars.
Budapest seemed to suffer less from tourists, but I'm a tourist so I don't really know what my opinion really means.
However, both share the same river dividing the city motif, with a castle district overlooking the rest of the city. |
Time Spent I was there only 3 days, and while I can say I had a really good time and think that I have a feel for the city, I definately think I will make a return trip to really soak it all in. I'll try for summer next time. |
