Get your port wrapped and other United Kingdom Packing List Tips

Luggage And Bags: After you have packed all that stuff, in this day and age it is wise to get your port wrapped up. I had mine done at Brisbane International Airport quite easily. Cost is $8 and it is done just inside one of the front doors. Only took a few minutes and gave me peace of mind.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good comfortable shoes. A pair of joggers and a pair of boots for dressier times. I also bought a cheap pair of "flip flops" for walking around the hotel room etc. The airlines also give you socks on the plane and I found them quite useful later on.

Toiletries & Medical Supplies: Codral cold tablets...just in case. My doctor gave me some antibiotics as I am prone to tonsilitis. Saved me worrying about trying to find a doctor if needed.

Photo Equipment: Battery chargers for digital camera and mobile phone. I also took along a USB cable for my camera. If you know someone with a computer they can download your pics for you onto a cd.


Miscellaneous: Spare eye glasses if needed. Photos of family / home etc. You'd be surprised how people you meet like to see that sort of thing.

Miscellaneous: I bought myself one of those money bags that you strap to your body and it was a good investment. I only used it for my passport, credit cards and larger amounts of money. It really makes you feel alot more secure knowing exactly where these important items are and there is no chance of you losing them or having them taken off you. Most other travellers I met had them also.
