Skye is one of the largest of Scotland's islands and is situated off the north west coast. A meer hop skip and a jump from the mainland, it is about 50 kilometres from north to south and has a population of around 14,000 people. |
| Typical farming countryside |
| | A sunny day trip to Skye I spent just one day here on a tour bus. Touring has it's advantages...we travelled a lot of kilometres and saw many sights that day...but it is restricting. So many times I would have liked to stop for photos or for a look around but had to make do with a quick look through the windows instead. |
| Wild bleak hills and windy roads |
| | The landscape. The landscape varied from remote bleak hills to green countryside. The beaches had that wild swept look and some parts of the coastlines were straight out of a picture book. Lots of windy roads, hills and lochs. |
