We are a most magnificent family of five. There's mom, Debbie who is obssessed with home decorating shows, dad, Scott obssessed with vitamins and cross-word puzzles, brohter, Joey who both flies and jumps out of perfectly good airplanes, sister, Nicole, who enjoys singing, dancing, long walks on the beach, taking pictures, chilling, world peace (oh yeah, did we mention talking about herself?), sister Natalie, who does not appreciate being named like a nun and whose brain is dying from the lack of respect for comma rules in this obscenely-long-that-should-be-split paragraph. So, here we are bored in the suburban Sugar Land bubble. But the one thing we love the most is getting out of the bubble and traveling on our annual summer vacations. Traveling with the Mattison family is always an adventure. We're one of those families whose mother insists that they do not check any baggage. So there we arrive at the airport, approximately 2 hours before everyone else, trying to lug our oversized and overpacked baggage through security when mom yells "Don't forget to take off your shoes and belt!" You'd think after so many years of traveling internationally, we'd be pretty calm and at ease in airports - definitely not the case. Dad speed walks (perhaps would like some exercise) as the big 3 - Mom Dad and Joey argue about the fastest, most direct route to our terminal. Keep in mind that we still have approximately 90 minutes to sit and stare at ourselves while waiting...waiting...waiting, until finally we wait some more until we are the last people to board (mom prefers to wait in the terminal rather than the airplane), lugging our luggage, bumping into all the passengers until we finally reach our lucky row - usually near the back. Travel Hint - Try not to store your baggage behind you or else you will have to wait for everyone to exit so that you can make your way back there to pick up your baggage. And from there the adventure begins....
