What exactly is Virtual Tourist or the internet for that matter? Well, VT can be whatever you want it to be. It can be a useful tool for others as well as for one's self. VT can be a vehicle for photographers that love to travel to share their pictures with the world. VT can also be used as an historical account of one's life. But let us not forget VT can be a place to meet new friends and document our shared experiences.

I have had fellow members of this community tell me how much help my tips have been. That gives me great joy. Fellow members often ask for directions to a locale or inquire about events happening in NY. Usually members of this community as for recommendations. Yes NY is a big town and I get a feeling of satisfaction knowing I helped someone(and their families) enjoy all this city has to offer.

I have also noticed many unique photographs on VT. Many members of this site provide unique ideas and excellent photography. You must be commended, if only VT gave out awards for their members efforts.

A photograph captures a moment in time and you see the world through the photographer's eyes. It is a dual relationship. The photographer wants to share a message or an experience and the recipient perceives the emotions and reasons out that moment in time. It is this shared experience that often times draws us back and makes us reconsider the joys of life.

VT is fairly new, but we will all notice the passage of time. Yes folks we will all grow old together. Some of us have posted pics when we were younger, many pics are of the present. Eventually we will post pics of our future travels. During which time we will view each other as we age gracefully. Funny how some places in the photographs may remain unchaged. Others in 100 years may look completely different.

Overall VT (thats virtual tourist, not Vin Tolucci) can be a place to meet others with the same interests and a place to share your thoughts and ideas. Having said that If ever you are in NY, I would like to extend an open invite to all who may want to meet for coffee at the Juan Valdez coffe shop in Manhattan.
