I got my first real travelling experience when I went on a 10 week trip around North America in Autumn 1995. I flew into NY and gradually travelled my way West and North via Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Minnesota, Boseman, Spokane, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland and ended up in San Franciso. Now America might not be everyone's favourite place right now but there are some truly amazing places. The highlight of the trip had to Yosemite.

The reason I managed to fit this trip into my life was because I was working in the French ski resorts as a chalet host. I did 4 seasons in all and became quite a good boarder during that time. I also met my (future) wife in Meribel in 1996 and we married in September 2003.

Since returning to what would be considered a normal working life in the UK in 1997 we have travelled together to Peru, Egypt, Corsica, Madeira, NZ, Sydney, Dolomites, Scotland and Borneo.

Update - August 2007:
Our 15 month old son now joins us on our travels and he has already experienced the Stourport Ring, Scotland in the rain and the magnificent Dolomites in a baby carrier. Travelling is now a totally different experience but a better one.
