Theme: Rafting
Never in my mind did i think white water rafting - a sport associated with the great outdoors like the U.S. and Europe - would be available in my backyard.
This involved an approximately 7 hour bus ride up north from Singapore, to the town of Kuala Kuba Baru (hope i got it right) in Selangor, Malaysia.
Well, it was quite an adventure being my FIRST white-water rafting trip, with either 7 or 4 to a raft. The best experience must be that of the boat capsizing(which i unfortunately did NOT experience), at which point one gets to soak thoroughly in the cool Selangor River. The flora and fauna that we encountered on the 2.5 hour trip was also quite amazing. I don't list them down here simply because i'm not enough of an expert to know what exacty they are!
A highlight was a waterfall where we were told to take a break, just before encountering the toughest rapids of this trip. The toughest rapids, we heard, would rate at least a 3!
Equipment: Worn out shoes were recommended by our organizer, so that you can throw it away once out of the water. Spare clothes is also necessary seeing the you will DEFINITELY get wet and of course ideally, a water-proof camera to capture the moments.
