The Seychelles is a beautiful, tropical paradise, but it is also extremely expensive. A coco de mer, like this, will cost you $400.

I visited the three main islands of the Seychelles: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. They all have white, sandy beaches, fringed with coconut palm trees.

Prior to the development of tourism in the twentieth century, coconut plantations were the basis of the islands' economy. Today the old plantation owners' houses are some of the most interesting buildings on the Seychelles.
