Malta is a very small country with a great history. The combined area of the three islands which it consists of, Malta, Gozo and Comino, is smaller than that of the Isle of Wight, but, because of its strategic location it has played a pivotal role in European history.
Its megalithic temples, dating back more than 5,600 years, are the oldest free standing buildings in the world. After they were built, Malta was occupied at different times by the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Spaniards, the multi-national Knights of St John, the French and the British.
Most people are attracted to Malta by its sunny climate, beaches and the fact that everybody here speaks English. About half of all visitors to Malta come from the UK.
Malta is in danger of becoming overcrowded and urban development has spread across much of the main island, but there are still some unspoilt areas of countryside in the south and especially on the smaller island of Gozo.
The highlights for me, however, were its fascinating historical and archaeological sites.

All interesting place Malta! Well done!
Intersting page about Malta. You could also make a page about Gozo. I think you have info enough for that. Ciao!
