    • West House Residence is a block of furnished, airconditioned apartments, used mainly by AUB students, but the apartments are also available by the day and offer a cheap alternative to local hotels. There is small bedroom, kitchen and sitting room with satellite TV. The apartments are very cheaply furnished and a bit gloomy, but OK for a couple of nights, if you need somewhere reasonably cheap to stay.

    • I didn't stay at the Hotel Riviera, but it looked really nice and has an excellent location at the end of the Corniche nearest to Downtown Beirut. It also has one of the best beach clubs, nice gardens and good restaurants. I'd say if you can afford it, go for it. Rooms with a sea view cost over $200 per night.
