Hoi An Travel Guide: 797 reviews and 1,713 photos
Hoi An is the prettiest town in Vietnam, and in 1999 it was made a World Heritage Site.
It was once one of the most important trading ports in South-East Asia but as the Thu Bon River silted up and ships became bigger, it gradually lost its trade to Danang. Today it is just a small place with a population of only 70,000. Its international trading days are over, but it still has a lot of attractions for foreign visitors, including the historic Old Quarter and some of the nicest hotels and restaurants in the country.

I recaptured the early comment you left - my tongue cuts and it hurts. But it describes in Chinese, tongue as a knife, but heart as a tofu, do you understand the point? I visited Hoi An and also loves the place because of the memory...
I agree, Ian. Hoi An is one of my favourite places in the world.
Hoi An is such a beautiful town - I look forward to visiting this place next year in Jan!
it's hard to actually promote hoi an adequately... there's beauty everywhere, and i still miss this place more than many others in the world.
Nice to look at your Vietnam pages ! It motivates me to look at my Vietnam album and diary again..... and who knows, maybe I will build some pages for VT as well.... some day.
Orchid told me abt your Viet pages. You have some great foot bridge shots.
A friend is there at the moment and I'm really envious...
I read about Hoi An in a travel magazine. You sure have some beautiful pictures here!!
