Very nice bar! They have a huge wrap around type fish tank with huge tropical fish, enough to keep me mesmerised!!!
This place is for the older crowd, in saying that I mean 25 plus. Its always very packed, and they have a large dance floor area.
Drinks are a bit pricey, and you'll be likely to wait at the bar.
Dress Code: Dress to impress.

This pub is really popular with the young crowd, especially in summer, especially on Thursday nights and Sundays. (It also holds the biggest new years party in Wollongong.)
They are obviously doing well, as they have just gotten hold of the block next door in order to do extensions.
Very nice atmosphere. I like this place myself.
Dress Code: Casual or dressy. Wear whatever you want.
Address: Flinders St, Wollongong

The Beach Bar tends to accomodate a bit of an older crowd,as opposed to the likes of the Bourbon Street and the Glasshouse etc.
Thursday and Sunday nights are popular here. Particular packed in the summer months.

The Steelers Club is directly opposite WIN Stadium and is the home of the St George Illawarra Dragons Rugby League Club. They were formally known as the Illawarra Steelers, hence the name "Steelers Club".
If you go expecting this enormous big club, you will really be disappointed. This place is tiny. They have a bar, a small eatery, and a few pool tables and pokies. They do stay open until 5am.
Great to watch the dragons "away" games on the big screen over a few drinks with friends.
Dress Code: General club attire is required for entry. Think collared shirts and nice pants. Gos without saying no thongs, sandels etc.

Bourbon Street continues to be a popular night spot in Wollongong, particularly in the Summer months.
There are 3 levels here. Bottom level is kinda where you would chill out and talk. They have a bar and music videos playing. Ground level is your chart type music and the main bar area, whilst the top level is your dance music and another smaller bar.
Tends to be a pretty young crowd, think Schoolies...
The queues here can be quite ridiculous, to the point if your arriving after 10pm, you mightn't get in at all!
Especially in Summer, its a good idea to head to Bourbon Street about 8pm, get your stamp and go and have dinner in town. That way you can head back later, present your stamp and just walk straight in.
Bourbon Street has a $5 cover charge, and they usually have $3 spirits up until 11pm.
They close at 3am.
Dress Code: Girls can get away with wearing whatever they like here, but watch out guys! They seem to have a particular preference for the "surfie type". Casual shorts/pants with a shirt and skater type shoes will get you in for sure. They tend to frown upon anything dressy.
They generally will not let in party groups ie. hens nights, bucks nights, football groups.

"The Glassie".
The Glasshouse is another popular spot in Wollongong. Much the same vibe as Bourbon Street, except with indoor and outdoor areas.
Open till 5am over the Weekends.
Address: 90 Crown Street, Wollongong.
Directions: Across from the Oxford Tavern.
