North Lakes Park

North Lakes Park is rather large and allows for several differnt acitivies. The area holds a recreational center, baseball fields, football fields, driving range, frisbee golf course, and soccer fields.

Address: North of University Street

Directions: From I-35: Take exit 469 (University), go east. Take a left at Bonnie Brae. The park will start on your right. If you go past the stop sign by Windsor Street, you will find a big parking lot on your right.

Fishing close to downtown

There is a small lake/pond in North Lakes park at which you are free to fish in (the city makes sure there is some fish in there). This is the place to go for some quick relaxing on weekend afternoon. Expect to catch some fish, but do not expect to catch dinner...

Directions: From I-35: Exit #469 (University). Go east. Take a left on Bonnie Brae. Take a right on Windsor. You will see a recreation center on your right, there will be parking in the left. Park there and walk through, and past, the play area.

Jogging/Walking Trail

There is a nice jogging/walking trail at North Lakes Park.

Address: North Lakes Park

Directions: Walk/jog up between the football fields and the soccer fields. You will see a little bridge over the creek to the right. Cross the bridge and follow the path (See "North Lakes Park" tip for directions to the park).
