Pichincha is a province in the northern central area of Ecuador, and belongs to the Sierra region. It includes the capital Quito. The province has 2 600 000 inhabitants, of which 1 600 000 lives in Quito. The province is dived into 9 cantons/municipalities (shown in the map above).
The main tourist attraction in the area is the capital, but it also includes other very intresting sites (such as the Lagunas de Mojanda outside of Tabacundo).
I spent 3 months living in the Pedro Moncayo municipality, where the main town is Tabacundo. I have also spent a significant amount of time in Quito and Cayambe. Hence, these pages will focuse on these areas.
For more specific information, see my seperate pages about, Quito, Cayambe, and Hacienda Picalqui (located in Pedro Moncayo).
