La Tejanasueca - The Swedish Texan. I grew up in Sweden, moved abroad when I was 17, spent 5.5 years in Texas , and 2 years in Denver. I then spent five months in South America before I returned to Sweden in the Summer of 2005.

Since the end of November 2006, I live in Quito, Ecuador. For how long I will be here? Well...that's up to destiny...

Why I love to travel

The travel bug hit me already in my younger years. My dad would travel a lot and send us kids postcards from far off places like China. All the postcards he sent had one message: "be nice to mommy." Already as a 2 year old, I knew how to say goodbye to my father in English. My sisters and I would all line up and say: "see you, bye, bye!"

When we got a couple of years older, we started to go for family trips every summer. My parents thought it was important that we first knew our own country and the rest of Scandinavia. So, I spent several summer vacations going on roadtrips in Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Soon, however, we also made it to London, and the rest of northern Europe.

The first time I traveled by myself, I was 15 years old and I went with a group of Swedish students to Isle of Wight for English and Confirmation studies. The year after that, I went on a school trip to Prague, and the year after that it was of to the US as an exchange student for a year. Hm, I guess that's kind of how it started...for as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by maps and international issues. I always find myself planning for a new adventure, and dreaming about even greater ones!

These are the trips I am currently planning:

2007: Colombia (January), Sweden (March)....then back to Ecuador by way of the US?
2008: New Jersey (have a wedding to attend)
