A lovely Mexican-style hotel TUCANCUN BEACH RESORT & VILLAS is right on the beach, in the hotel zone close to shopping (Kukulcan Mall is right across the street) and restaurants.
Unique Qualities: Tucancun has 315 rooms, 3 pools, 4 bars, 2 buffet restaurants, 1 a' la carte restaurant, snack bar, tennis court and gift shop.

There are 3 swimming pools at TUCANCUN BEACH RESORT each with their own purpose. The sports and activities pool is obviously where all the action is. You can participate in water volleyball, aerobics, different water games for prizes like T-shirts and drink mugs. The activities start at 10: a.m. with stretching exercises and continue until 5: p.m.
The lounging pool is exactly that. They even have lounges built right into the pool which is kind of neat. So if you want to relax and read that book, this is the spot.
The third pool is the smaller children's pool and play area.

Cancun has beautiful white sand beaches. Some areas do have undertow, so use caution when swimming.
The majority of the hotels' beaches indicate the intensity of the wave action currents with colored flags.
GREEN --- Calm
YELLOW -- Caution
RED -- Danger
The beach was also the location for beach volleyball ( Losers have to roll in the sand)

There are four restaurants at TUCANCUN.
EL CAFFE --Breakfast Buffet 7 -11:30
Lunch Buffet - 1- 4:00
Dinner Buffet - 6 - 10:30
LA TERRAZA - Mexican Restaurant
-6:30 - 10:00
-a la carte service
-reservation is required
ROMANZA - -Italian Restaurant
- -Breakfast Buffet 7 - 11:30
- - Dinner Buffet -6 - 10:30
CLARABOYA - Snack Restaurant
- 12: -4:00
Unique Qualities: I really enjoyed the breakfasts here. The staff greeted us with a big smile and after two weeks got to know us pretty good. Hans was "El Capitan" .
The buffet had all those tropical fruits like pineapple, papaya, grapefruit, cantaloupe. You could also have apples, bananas, pears and yogurt.
Hot items included a potato, meat (sausage, ham or bacon) refried beans.
The cook can serve you up an omelet, pancakes or eggs anyway you like.
Also many rolls, croissants to choose from.
