An Island on the Atlantic Coast, CAPE BRETON ISLAND is part of the Province of Nova Scotia. The 3,981 square mile island accounts for 18.7 % of the total area of Nova Scotia. The Northern portion of Cape Breton Island is dominated by the Cape Breton Highlands. In 1936 the Federal Government established the National Park across the northern third of the Highlands,
The Cabot Trail scenic highway encircles the coastal perimeter.

The cabot trail must have been a scenic roadway passing along the scenic Cape Breton Highlands. Lucky you have been to see a moose cow with her young calf!
