GARDEN OF THE GODS June 19, 1996
Stayed at the Garden of the Gods Campground
Dedicated in `1909, Garden of the Gods has an abundance of plant and animal life throughout its 1,350 acres, as well as the magnificent red sandstone rock formations. Many of these are over 300 million years old and were sculpted through time by erosion. The "Garden" offers hiking, picnicing, horse-back riding and photography in the region.
This is one of the first stops we made while on our road trip to the West Coast with Hans' sister and her husband. |
