The RENOIR HOTEL is located right in the heart of downtown San Francisco. It is close to major stores, like Macy's, close to restaurants and take-out food, and a short walking distance to the start of the Cable Cars on Powell Street. Hans and I stayed here for two nights, Thursday August 5 and Friday August 6.
Unique Qualities: Although our room was small as we reserved an economy room, it was sufficient for us. The hotel lobby had a lounge area where you can read or just watch the hustle bustle of a busy hotel. The front desk was friendly and always helpful. A busboy is available if you need your suitcases brought up to your room.

lynnehamman Mon Jan 26, 2009 08:34 UTC Your tips brought both good and bad memories back for me. Good- because I loved all the places you recommend, and bad because I lost a diamond ring at Chowders on fishermans wharf- and never got it back _gone- vanished. I left it in the washroom. Boo Hoo! | MalenaN Sat Apr 26, 2008 07:00 UTC San Francisco is a lovely city, which I haven't visited since 1990. Your tips brought back many good memories. Thanks for that, and for visiting my Scotland page! | Kuznetsov_Sergey Wed Feb 13, 2008 18:21 UTC I wish I ever see Golden Gate Bridge and sing I left my heart in San Francisco! Thanks Lori for reminding I didn't make it yet! Excellent page! May be one day... | Nemorino Sat Sep 22, 2007 20:34 UTC Glad you are so enthusiastic about San Francisco! I lived and worked in Berkeley for several years in the 1960s, and often crossed to bay to visit San Francisco. Also we used to do live radio broadcasts from Alcatraz when it was occupied by the Indians. |
