KEEP SAFE

Most visitors to Spain do not experience problems. Violent crime is rare. Although assaults against foreigners are infrequent, reports of such attacks in connection with petty crime are a concern. Petty crime occurs, particualarly during holidays and festivals. Pickpockets and purse snatchers working in pairs or groups are active mainly in airports, train and bus stations and near tourist attractions. Avoid unlit areas, especially at night.
Ensure that personal belongings, passports and other travel documents are secure. Keep a copy of your passport identification page, driver's licence, airline tickets and credit cards
