Our fourth Port of Call
Located in the South Cyclades, 113 nautical miles from Piraeus, IOS (108 sq. km.) is blessed with countless chapels, olive trees, vineyards, small attractive coves, crystal clear sea and superb sandy beaches.
The island's history goes back to prehistoric times. According to legend, Homer was buried at Plakatos in the north of the island. The sites of Ios include a Hellenistic tower at Plakatos, the remains of an ancient aquaduct at Agia Theodoti and traces of an ancient temple at Psathi.
Ios can be reached by ferry boat.

Lovely little page, Lori! Beautiful St. Irini Church! Though I doubt it can be used by the Orthodox and the Catholic Church (in Russia it's impossible). Thanks for sharing!
