Friesland is a province located in northern Netherlands. Hans and I really enjoyed our time there. It is less hectic and crowded than the southern parts. Friesland is rich in tradition and some towns you can still see villagers dressed in traditional costume. Friesland even has their own language. A very well known event that takes place in Friesland is the 11-towns skating tour"Frisians on Ice". It is a 200 k.m. marathon. Friesland is also a haven for boaters. Places we have visited include:
