Nightlife Spot: Sheridans Irish House
The only Irish bar in town, in fact probably the only real pub in town. Great grub, good atmosphere with a load of "interesting" locals. Live music most nights and Whiskey in the Jar, with Mike and Irish Vietnamese musicians, every Saturday. One Note: the lonely planet still has a listing saying that there is a free shuttle bus from here to Mui Ne, this stopped 4 years ago.

Nightlife Spot: Bar No5
No5 has now reopened at 43 Mac Dinh Chi, Hienz kept the name for obviouse reasons and the fact that this is the 5th bar he has opened here. It's bigger and classier than the old one and has kept it's atmopshere. Great place for sports, beer, darts and getting in with the golf scene.

Nightlife Spot: Underground Bar and Grill
One of the busiest places in town, right in the middle of Dong Khoi. Not just a bar, does great food, especially lunches and a good sunday morning hangover cure breakfast. Lots of specials on drinks and often packed at the weekends.

Little wine bar restaurant, pretty civilised compared to my regular haunts. Big selection of wines and excellent asian tapas menu, located on Dong Du with a couple of tables outside to watch the world go by.

Nightlife Spot: The Tavern
Saigon South is the "New town" of Saigon, up and coming area and very different from the rest of town. The tavern is a british style pub, great pub grub, live sports and cold beer, expat hangout.

Nightlife Spot: Lush
This is the hippest bar/club in town, the closest thing we have to a real cub by western standards. Packed at the weekends with all sorts. Great DJ's keeping the place buzzing. Drinks are usual club prices.......pricey!
