It would be impossible to ever have a complete England page (well certainly when you live in England), so expect this page to be constantly evolving! There is a lot I would like to add and probably a lot more I should add. England is essentially the southern part of the Great Britain. The remainder of it being Scotland and Wales. If you thrown Northern Ireland into the equation, then the whole lot is referred to as the United Kingdom. Historically, England has been the dominant part of the Union. This is evident in the British flag, which is made up of a conglomeration of the flags of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland (the Welsh flag features a dragon, and would not have fitted with the design). The English flag is the red cross of St George on a white background, the Scottish flag is the White Cross of St Andrew on a Blue background (diagonal cross), and the Northern Irish flag is a diagonal red cross on a white background. If you lok at the Union Jack flag, you will see only one of these crosses is complete, and that is the English Cross of St George which covers the other two crosses. The implication was the England was the dominant member of the Union.

Lots of interesting facts and excellent photos on your page, but you shouldn't make us believe that England=London. Hope you add more tips on its other parts.
I like this England (mostly London) page especially the Thames Barrier and the Millenium Dome which I find intriguing. As to the "smart water" we have something similar in our "smart meters" for hydro which charges you a higher rate during peak hours.
A brilliant page Andy, with an abundance of interesting and unusual facts! My favourites were the Greenwich foot tunnel, the Thames Barrier and the horse canal escape. Nice to see the Battersea PS, I still remember it from train rides over 25 years ago!
I hope to look like Goldie Hawn when I am her age (which isn't that far off), but alas, even if I was so fortunate, I was born to be a downstairs maid I guess.
So, why they are in London? Thank u la, I am young forever:-P
hmmm... looks like a chinoise kelly clarkson, but it probably isn't *lol*
hehe, you big paparazzo...I looked around fotos of other actrices ot the movie poseidon...there are 2 girls looking similar to your unknown one: Stacy Ferguson & Jacinda Barrett... what do you think? ;.-)) Happy weekend!
Cor Blimey yer a regular VT 'Time Out' and papparazi..LOL That's why I luv readin ya pages! Thx 4 the garden visit. The weather is oppressive here and Summer's taken a holiday so I'm off to Danger Island till things improve.Tim
I used to read "The Wind in the Willows" to my children. Later my daughter lived in Greenwich for a year, and I always wanted to walk through that tunnel, but never quite got around to it. Don't know how I missed that great Henry Purcell statue.
I can see this page has potential for growth = great info as always = was surprised to see the cormorants!
