Sky Jump of the Auckland SkyTower

Jump off of New Zealands tallest building and drop 192 metres in about 10 seconds. You wear an all over body suit and are fitted to a wire. Most of the fall is very rapid, but just before you land, the fan descender kicks in, and you have a nice gentle landing on the ground.

I got a massive buzz out of this that lasted about three hours. I haven't seen anywhere else in the world where you can do this sort of thing, and as I felt I wouldn't be going back to Auckland in a hurry, I thought I better do it whilst I had the chance!

A Zorb down a hill

This is definitely at the more end of tame when it comes to extreme sports. Zorbing is basically climbing inside a big ball at the top of a hill ,and then getting rolled down the hill. You are strapped inside the ball, so you tend to go end over end. I have to admit that this appears to be a little over-rated, but this sport was invented in NZ, along with countless other lunatic type sports, so its as good a place as any to try it.

Equipment: There are two types of Zorb, a dry one, and a wet one. If you do the wet one, they tend to throw in some foaming agent that they then call the washing machine. I guess because you are on a spin cycle.
